Macquarie U14 SYL – Round 11
This Saturday our boys take on South Cardiff under 15’s. The win last week to Hunter under 14 SYL was a nice display of patient and composed playing out from the back particularly from our goal keeper and was a reward for our boys who had spent weeks on this at training.
This week we have been working on the speed of transitioning from the moment when the ball is lost to when we win it back.

U12’s Blue 4 v Hunter Maroon 2
Good win in windy conditions. At 4-0 up we had to continue the pressure, to let them get 2 back in the dying minutes was the only down side to the performance. We hope Scott’s knee improves. 4 games this week in 7 days will be a big test.

Macquarie U14 SYL – Round 10
This Saturday our boys take on Hunter under 14 SYL. The game should be a welcome relief for the boys who have had to battle hard in the last two weeks against top of the table Under 15 teams Charlestown and Magic who overpowered us with their extra size, strength and speed.
The game against Hunter under 14 SYL is an opportunity for the boys to relax and express their skills and tactical understanding without feeling so physically intimidated. Continue reading ...

After a very good weeks training the boys were switched on to play. Our boys played well from the start, we pressed up front and compressed from the back. We kept our shape most of the game. These boys are starting to believe in themselves. They are starting to play some good football. Special mentioned to Chocky on a very good game.
Well done to all.

It is always going to be difficult for teams to play against their own. Our White played our Blue team. This turned out to a very competitive game. Some very good passing from the White team proved a handful for the Blues. However...

Match 28th March
Because of the draw, this game was against our White team. I was very pleased with the outcome. both teams tried to play football. Both teams tried to pass the ball and create chances by moving into a position to go forward. Both teams kept there shape, in attack and defense. It was also pleasing to hear voices of encouragement from our coaching staff. Well done to both teams.

Macquarie U14 SYL - Round 6
This Sunday our boys take on the Weston Under 15 team.
The win last week against Newcastle Under 14 SYL was a credit to the boys self-belief and discipline. After scoring first, and then later going behind, the boys patiently maintained their possession based football. Part of the aim of this style of football is to fatigue the opposition and the boys were able to go back in front toward the end of the game.
Training this week has been focused on creating scoring opportunities by “thir... ? Continue reading ...
Macquarie Whites verses Newcastle Under 11 31st March
Hi, Macquarie Whites verses Newcastle, The Game commenced at a very fast pace with Macquarie holding our own with their passing game. Newcastle had very explosive strikers and they scored early on in the match to make it 1-0. Macquarie white always regroup and play beautiful football, we had a couple away for this match so our defence was weakend by this.Newcastle are also very physical side and the boys held their own in that regard as well. The final score was 3-0 but this was no indication ... Macquarie Under 11 Blue Match Report
The boys started off by playing some good football. All we practiced was starting to come together, players starting to look for support etc. Good points were noticed. Good team goals were scored. Mid second half our game plan fell apart. "Footy Tip" Don't forget to check your gear bag before leaving home. See you at training.

Match report Macquarie White under 12s vs Hunter Sky
It was a hot day at Turner Park Cessnock when the boys took to the field at 1.30pm. The first half they displayed awareness and control and managed to go a goal up. Passing and movement were good in parts, especially against some strong physical challenges.
In football the saying is "its a game of two halves", how true. I think the referee thought we were playing footy in the second half and so the challenges kept coming and coming. This caused confusion and a loss of control from the majori... Continue reading ...

Match report under 12s Macquarie white
The boys last game was against the 13s girls. We held posession extremely well again for the majority of the game with only a few lapses in concentration and composure. This is something we need to work on throughout the season and should improve. We also failed to put the ball in the back of the net more than once and really should have won the game. The girls were strong and physical and managed to get a goal back. The game finished 1-1. The boys played some beautiful football and there awa... Continue reading ...
Macquarie Under 11 Whites Vs Hunter Valley Maroon

Very well played by all. The exercises and drills we have practiced all came off in this game. The boys played some terrific football. maybe the only part was our strength of our passes. Macquarie U12-Blue Vs Newcastle Mustangs -21/3/12 at Macquarie
Result 1-3 loss to Newcastle Mustangs. This was a game of lost opportunities where we had a majority of the possession and control of the game. A bit of ball watching saw quick counter attacks from Newcastle through the middle. The players need to transfer what is learnt at training to game days. The boys have been working really hard at training and it is simple mistakes that cost us. Fortunately there are many games ahead to work at getting this across to match day. I definitely... STATE YOUTH LEAGUE UNDER 12's
From what was on display on Saturday, the 12's comp should be a very close affair. There was some pretty good football played.
Our white team played Newcastle Mustangs, in the early fixture. The boys should be very pleased with their effort. Keeping the ball and their build up from the back was a highlight. They did not let the Newcastle team settle in to any routine. Good all round performance. Won 2 - 0

Macquarie U12 White Match Report 18/3/12
It was nice to finally start the season on Saturday with the boys playing against the Newcastle Mustangs in round 1.
It was cool and a little wet but the boys felt good and were looking forward to it.
They played their passing game well, especially in the first half with the majority of the possession, switching the ball effectively.
Challenges were strong, as they always are from the Newcastle teams, however our team were strong also and not at all put off.

Macquarie U14 SYL – Round 3
This Sunday our boys take on the NSW Institute of Sport under 18 girls team.
The loss last week to Hamilton Olympic under 15 boys showed the physical challenges for our under 14 boys. The game was a little reminder that maintaining possession is the key for us so that it remains a ”technical skill” based contest rather than a “physical” contest.
Training this week has been focused on the three main defensive strategies of the FFA National Curriculum... ? Continue reading ...
