Both teams went down to there respective opponents. Again both teams played good football, however silly mistakes cost them dearly. The never say die effort each week is very rewarding from a coaches point of view. Keep up the good work guys.

Quite a good day for footy.

The blue team started proceedings against a very determined Newcastle gold team. Macquarie tried to play football, however when it mattered most we could not find that player in a better position. Overall the commitment and enthusiasm was there. This team has certainly found their hunger for playing the game. Well done boys.

On Saturday we were hosted by the Hunter zone. Our two teams were not successful on the score board, however they did try to play football. I think all teams learnt what a good first means to their playing standard. The competition is becoming very strong with all teams putting that bit extra in. At the moment Hunter are on top and playing some good football. Well done to Gerard and the boys.

Macquarie started the game well and their early dominance paid off after 10 minutes when Riley Taylor converted a throughball. Macquarie created numerous chances in the first half but failed to capitalise. In the last minute of the first half, Newcastle equalised against the run of play from a long range free kick. Hunter Valley Blue's  100 percent start to the season  came to an end this round  with a goalless draw at Speers Point. Wet conditions played their part in a game in which Hunter Valley had the better of the first half missing four good chances to take the lead.
