Just around the corner is our U8 Gala Day 17 June and our holiday clinic for 8’s and 9’s from Monday 9^th of July – Thursday 12^th of July.  The gala day will be for all Under 8 teams in our zone. more information will be sent to clubs shortly. 

Our very successfull clinic will be held in the school holidays for 8's and 9's we will attach a application form shortly to our academy website  front page.

Following are dates for the Development and SYL trials in both boys and girls for the season 2012. Could you please pass on this information to the relevant age groups so every player has the chance to be part of the Macquarie Football Academy in 2012? There will be some players that will have to be replaced in the current Development and SYL due to possible selection into the Institute of Sport, Skills Acquisition and the Emerging Athletes programs. Our clinic for 2011 hasd now been completed, once again a very successful event, thanks to all that made it possible.

THe coaching staff  provided great training and  our selection team also identified some up and comming players for inclusion  in trials to be held at the end of the year for next seasons academy.


Well done to all the players, that attended and we hope to see you soon at Macquarie Academy.

gary Van Egmond will deliver a coach education session at 5.00pm at Wallarah

Oval this Thursday using Newcastles  12 boys he will be putting on a possession drill and a passing drill. Then he will coach playing out from the back from a goal kick.He will also coach the possession team from the standing start.

this is an opportunity for coaches to come along and observe this training session.

Invitation to club coaches

Our  Director of coaching extends an invitation to club coaches in the Macquarie Zone to attend the Training sessions for the Under 9 & 10 Academy Players from the 9th March 5pm to 630pm each Wednesday Night  onward.

The talent identification and development clinic will be held again  this year for players in the Macquarie Zone.
 It is open to players in this years under 8 and under 9 age bracket.

These clinics are held at our Academy grounds at Speers Point.

Academy selectors will be in attendance looking for talented players to give them the chance to trial for our 2012 Academy intake which is held towards the end of the playing season.
